Training held on “Concepts and Implementation of Research Thematic Area”.
The training was officially opened by Research, Technology & Transfer Affairs Vice President, Dr. Yohannes Gebru.
In his opening remark, Dr. Yohannes said that Wolkite University has been conducting research in various fields since its establishment.
Furthermore, he explained that this training shall play an enormous role by incapacitating the trainees to fill the gaps by addressing problems that have been observed in our University especially in terms of implementing the direction set by the Ministry of Education for researchers to conduct research in higher education in thematic base.
Dr Yohannes also expressed his deepest gratitude for Professor Masresha for being among us, dedicating his valuable time to share his ample experience in a long-term research work.
The training was delivered by Professor Masresha Fetene from Addis Ababa University.
The training was mainly focused on concepts and applications of thematic research in Higher education Institutions. Under this major title Professor Masresha Fetene has given much emphasis on: -

The training was organized by Research, Technology and Transfer affairs Vice president Office and it will be given for two days (in between March 18-19, 2025).
According to his biography, Professor Masresha Fetene is a Professor of Plant Ecophysiology at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He received his PhD in Plant Ecophysiology from the Institute of Botany, University of Darmstadt, Germany.
He has several years of teaching experience in both undergraduate and graduate programmes in biological, botanical, environmental and ecological subject areas. He has supervised and mentored numerous Masters and PhD students.
Professor Masresha Fetene served as Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies at Addis Ababa University. He made landmark contributions to enhance research capacity at Addis Ababa University.
He initiated and oversaw the growth and expansion of graduate studies at the University through the introduction of new programmes as well as quality improvement programmes such as visiting scholarship schemes and the formation of research consortia.
