The main goal or purpose of my position, Dean for College of Computing and Informatics is to provide academic and administrative leadership for the programs under the college. This includes overseeing academic programs, ensuring high-quality teaching and research, managing faculty and staff, and fostering an environment that promotes student success. The dean is also responsible for budgeting, resource allocation, and implementing policies that align with the university's mission and goals

As college dean, long-term career growth and skill development objectives can focus on both personal professional growth and the continued development of the institution's academic mission. These objectives often involve refining leadership, management, academic, and external relationship-building skills. Here are some specific long-term objectives:

  • Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities of the position clearly stated in Wolkite University Legislation at Article 47 and as a summary the following are major duties and responsibilities.

·      Leadership: Serve as chairperson of the College Academic Committee (CAC) and College Staff Advisory Committee (SAC).

·   Implement Decisions: Carry out CAC decisions regarding appointments, promotions, admissions, graduations, and other university-related matters.

·         Program Development: Propose and manage the establishment, revision, or dissolution of academic programs.

·         Follow-up and Reporting: Monitor the implementation of CAC/SAC recommendations and report back on progress.

·         Budget and Planning: Coordinate the preparation of college plans, programs, and budgets in collaboration with department heads.

·         Coordinate College Activities: Oversee and direct the activities of departments and units within the college.

·         Research Management: Coordinate and oversee all research activities within the college.

·         Professional Development: Manage continuing education programs, workshops, and seminars.

·        Admissions and Student Placement: Coordinate the formulation of admission criteria and participate in student placements.

·         Resource and Welfare Management: Administer college resources and implement staff and student welfare programs.
