Goals and Objectives

  1. Academic Excellence: Ensure the delivery of high-quality educational programs that prepare students to become competent professionals in the fields of education and behavioral sciences.​
  2. Research Promotion: Foster a culture of research and innovation among faculty and students, encouraging studies that address educational quality, mental health and psychosocial challenges within the community and beyond.​
  3. Community Engagement: Strengthen partnerships with local schools, educational organizations, hospitals and community groups to promote the application of knowledge and skills in real-world settings.​
  4. Faculty Development: Support the continuous professional growth of faculty members through opportunities for advanced studies, workshops, and collaborative projects.​
  5. Student Success: Enhance student support services to improve academic performance, retention, and overall well-being.​

Duties and Responsibilities

v  Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the university's vision and the college's mission, ensuring the achievement of set goals and objectives.​

v  Curriculum Oversight: Supervise the design, evaluation, and revision of curricula to maintain relevance with current educational trends and societal needs.​

v  Budget Management: Oversee the college's financial resources, ensuring effective allocation and utilization in support of academic and operational priorities.​

v  Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance mechanisms to monitor and enhance the standards of teaching, research, and community service activities.​

v  Policy Implementation: Ensure adherence to university policies and procedures, as well as compliance with national educational standards and regulations.​

v  Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the college in university committees, professional associations, and at public events, fostering relationships that benefit the college's mission and objectives.​

Through these goals, objectives, duties, and responsibilities, the Dean plays a crucial role in advancing the College of Education and Behavioral Science's contribution to the university's overall mission and to the development of the education sector.

Historical Background

College of Education and Behavioral studies (CEBs) aspires to stand in harmony to serve the community and contribute significant role in quality of education. The college was established in 2018. This addition increased the total number of colleges within the university to eight, reflecting Wolkite University's commitment to diversifying its academic offerings and contributing to national development. Currently the college has more than 30 staff members and 300 students. CEBS has composed of three departments, these are Psychology, Educational Leadership and curriculum and instructional supervision.  Apart from teaching and learning, the college has been proactively conducting many multidisciplinary research activates to enhance the
