                   Biography

      Mebrat Teklemariam was born in 1986 from her father Ato Teklemarian Gebrekidan and her mother W/ro Mana Kahsay in Adigrat, Eastern Tigray, Ethiopia. She attained primary school at Ahzera, Junior School at Bizet, Secondary and preparatory school at Agazi Comprehensive secondary school. After successfully passing the higher education entrance exam, she joined Mekelle University, Northern Ethiopia in 2006. After successful completion of her course works in Mekelle University, she was awarded with B.Sc. degree in Animal, Range land and Wildlife Science in July 2008. She was employed at Samara University, North eastern Ethiopia as Graduate Assistant for two years. In September 2010, she joined Wondo Genet College of Forestry and Natural Resources, Hawassa University, Southern Ethiopia.  After successful completion of her study in Hawassa University, she was awarded a Master’s degree in Wildlife Management in Nov 2012. Since Nov. 2012 –June 2017 she worked at Samara University as a lecturer. She is an employee of Welkite University, Central Ethiopia starting July 2017.

The research focuses on determining wildlife species diversity, abundance and distribution as well as identifying challenges and prospects of wildlife and their conservation issues.
