Background
The Department was established since 2013 under the College of Natural and Computational sciences in Wolkite University. The department starts its work by five lecturers. About fifty regular students were joined the department as a first batch. Currently the intake capacity has increased through regular and summer program. In addition all academic staffs are Master degree holders. Currently there are 234 students are attending chemistry in the department. We using nationally harmonized modular curriculum for Bachelor of Science in chemistry. We have collaboration with different industries.
Research and community service
Varies types of researches and community service projects have been planed and implemented in line with thematic areas identified by the university research and community service directorate. Different research articles were published and submitted to peer reviewed international journals for publication by staffs of the department, furthermore research based training had given for the community by the staffs.
