Internationalization Strategy

Science transcends national borders, and as such, international engagement is not a supplementary aspect of academic life but a crucial component that underpins a university’s success, innovation, and future relevance in a competitive global arena. Internationalization should be seamlessly embedded into the core functions of higher education research, teaching, and knowledge transfer. This integration is vital for fostering the institution’s long-term sustainability, ensuring it remains adaptable and responsive to the dynamic challenges and opportunities of the global academic and research environment.

International Faculty and Students

International Students

Wolkite University is dedicated to attracting world-class educators and cultivating a vibrant international academic environment. At present, the university hosts approximately 83 international students, including 60 from South Sudan and 23 from Somaliland. The majority are enrolled as full-time undergraduate students pursuing BSc or BA degrees, while four students from Somaliland are undertaking MA programs. Although international students currently represent a relatively small proportion of the total student population, the university is experiencing steady growth in this area. The number of international applicants continues to increase, reflecting the institution’s strong commitment to internationalization as a key strategic priority. Moreover, delivering all academic programs in English provides a significant advantage, as it removes language barriers and facilitates effective communication among local and international faculty members and students.
