The Women, Social Affairs, and Mainstreaming Office at Wolkite University is committed to promoting gender equality, empowering female students and staff, and ensuring inclusivity across all aspects of university life. - Coordinate and oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction, infrastructure, and development projects within the university.
- Ensure effective resource management including budget, time, and manpower for the successful delivery of projects.
- Facilitate smooth communication and collaboration among stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and university management.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance throughout all projects.
- Support the university’s strategic plan by ensuring timely completion of infrastructure and facility development.
- Monitor and report progress to university leadership and provide recommendations for improved project delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, designing, procuring, constructing, and repairing the university’s physical infrastructure projects, ensuring that all activities are completed efficiently, within budget, on time, and to the required quality standards.
Planning and Organization
- Prepare detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and performance standards.
- Organize and lead regular project meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Project Implementation and Supervision
- Oversee the day-to-day management of ongoing construction and infrastructure projects.
- Supervise contractors, consultants, and site supervisors, ensuring adherence to plans, standards, and safety protocols.
- Ensure all projects are executed within budget, on time, and at the required quality level.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Track project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the university management and other relevant bodies.
- Evaluate project outcomes against initial objectives and recommend improvements for future projects.
Financial Management
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure cost control and budget compliance.
- Verify and approve payment requests, contractor invoices, and other project-related financial documents.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, university departments, and government bodies.
- Facilitate effective communication and problem-solving among project participants.
Documentation and Compliance
- Ensure proper documentation of all project-related materials including contracts, plans, permits, and reports.
- Comply with legal, environmental, and safety standards in all project activities.
Resource Management
- Coordinate and manage project teams, assigning responsibilities and monitoring performance.
- Ensure efficient use of materials, equipment, and human resources.

The goal of WKU ICT infrastructure development is to provide a stable, secure, and scalable technology environment that supports business processes, improves service delivery, and enables digital transformation in the university.
WKU ICT Academy
Wolkite University ICT Academy was launched in 2014 with the aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world ICT skills. The Academy prepares students of the University for industry-recognized Networking Certifications and global job opportunities. Currently we have Cisco and Huawei Academies actively working on producing competent graduates in the area of networking and Computer maintenance.
Wolkite University ICT System Administration Team is responsible for ensuring that an organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, and services operate reliably, securely, and efficiently. Their work spans technical operations, security management, user support, and strategic IT planning.
